Integrated Design Atlas
A platform strengthening social and
ecological sustainability in architecture

About us

IDA – Integrated Design Atlas is a multilingual digital platform dedicated to teaching and learning about ecologically and socially sustainable architecture. Initiated by nine leading Swiss architecture schools and the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), IDA promotes an integrated design approach rooted in climate-conscious building practices.

Supported by EnergieSchweiz, IDA makes climate-relevant knowledge accessible across institutional and linguistic boundaries. With case studies, tools, stories, and community features, the platform serves as a shared learning environment for architects, students, and educators alike.

IDA contributes directly to the implementation of Switzerland’s Energy Strategy 2050 and supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by empowering the architectural community to adopt sustainability as a fundamental design principle.
